Great people, great value – Simply Perfect
This review is actually for May 2019, just a little late.
This is a really lovely b&b; we have stayed several times over many years and have never been disappointed. Clean as clean can be, affordable, great food and the loveliest people you can ever hope to meet. The owners are very accommodating and will do whatever is in their power to make sure your stay is enjoyable.
This place has all the amenities and a beautiful location in the gorgeous town of Wakefield. Walking distance to many of the town’s sights and its great restaurants and entertainment establishments downtown beside the river.
Of particular comfort during the Pandemic is the fact that all the suites are self-contained with private entrances and no requirement to meet anyone face to face. The ultimate in social distancing accommodations!
Welcomed with open arms
Spending two nights this weekend. Were welcomed with open arms just as if we had been friends for years. Two breakfasts were top notch. Dawn made sure everything was to notch and even provide coupons for local restaurants.
My wife and I enjoyed a great night’s getaway in Wakefield – the B&B is walking distance to the Blacksheep Inn, and we took in a show after dinner at Le Petit Hibou. Dawn is super friendly and makes sure your stay is great. Lovely breakfast in the morning. Would definitely recommend !!
We had a last minute offer of babysitting and decided to visit the Nordik Spa and then stay over in Wakefield afterward. We were lucky enough to come across an opening at the Auberge and couldn’t have been happier with our stay. Dawn was a welcoming host and we felt like we were visiting a friend. She advised us of restaurant closures due to bad weather, and even booked us a reservation at the Village House while we were still at the Spa. We stayed in the studio room at the back of the Auberge, it was quiet, clean and had everything we needed. We were greeted in the morning to a delicious hot breakfast and she even went the extra mile with mimosas to celebrate the new year. It’s a 5 minute walk to restaurants and the famous Black Sheep Inn. Do yourself a favour, visit Wakefield and Auberge de mon petit chum, excellent value and a wonderful host.
It’s not Thanksgiving in Canada
We Yanks drive to Canada for US Thanksgiving to meet up with family members. We chose Wakefield this year for its proximity to Gatineau. This Auberge abuts trails into the park and is walking distance to the river, pubs, and the amazing railroad turntable. Spotlessly clean rooms. Large comfy beds. Excellent hot breakfast. We enjoyed the location, the auberge, and our hostess. cheers
Cozy and friendly
My first ever B&B. Dawn and her family are absolutely lovely and professional. Personally loved the attention given to us. Dawn would ask very intelligent questions to serve us better. Personally i dont expect much on my travels but this trip was absolutely wonderful with Dawn and her husband Sebastian serving us.
The place itself is well maintained and clean. Private and yet with chance of mingling with people if u want. Village nearby is nice to walk to and enjoy the sceneries.
I would come back here for sure.
Thank you Dawn for all the hard work you do. You are a SUPER WOMAN.

A piece of heaven
The place is fantastic, if you want to experience a “back to the past” this is a place to go, Is a very quiet lovely house in a middle of a beautiful and romantic town, there you will have a feeling you are with family, Dawn is an amazing host, is so charming and she is a awesome chef, all her recipes are delicious. The mornings with all the birds on the field and the dusk time is unbelievable. So if you want to feel like in a love-story choose this place.

Saved from the cold!
Clean and comfortable room with amazing service, Dawn went above and beyond to ensure we were well taken care of. We got there after spending the day outside in the cold and rain, right away Dawn came up with hot tea, to warm us up😊
Breakfast was delicious!
Perfect for families
A great stay with our 2 kids in the charming village of Wakefield! A cozy renovated heritage Bed and Breakfast that caters to families. Dawn went out of her way to make our stay the best it could be! Delicious made-to-order breakfasts. Skied in Gatineau, downhill at Mont Ste. Marie, tried all the area restaurants. A great base from which to explore!

Since June 25th, 2020 we are still OPEN. We are following the rules of the Quebec Government.
We also wanted to let you know that we have strict policies and procedures that will keep all of our guests safe and my little family too.
We have a cleaning check list in place developed by using the guidelines that the World Health Organization suggests. We are using cleaning products that are recommended on the Health Canada Website. We will be wearing masks, goggles, and cleaning gloves to ensure a deep clean of everything after each check out. Everything will be washed and sanitized before the next guest arrival.
We also are taking an extra measure of using a UV Germicidal Lamp Compact UVC Light Bulb for a certain amount of time depending on the square footage of the room that kills bacteria, germ, flu, virus, mould, fungus, canine, parvovirus, E.Coli etc.
As for breakfast, to stop the spread of COVID-19, we are providing breakfast boxes of your choice that will be in your room upon arrival. You can advise us at time of booking which gourmet sandwich you would like and if you are Vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, lactose intolerant etc.
During this pandemic we all need to stay safe and follow procedures from the Government. We hope you understand.
