The road up the long steep hill behind the MacLaren House leads to the family cemetery. It’s the burial place of David MacLaren (1870) and other members of the family, as well as miller John Edmond and many pioneers.
The grave of the late Prime Minister Lester B. Pearson is found at the northeast corner of the cemetery. During his years he hiked in the surrounding woods with his friends and they all chose this to be their final resting place. The Canadian flag and commemorative plaque were erected in Mr. Pearson’s honour.
